On June 6th in 1639 Massachusetts granted 500 acres of land to erect a gunpowder mill.

On June 6th in 1716 The 1st slaves arrived in Louisiana.

On June 6th in 1813 The U.S. invasion of Canada was halted at Stoney Creek, Ontario.

On June 6th in 1861 Lincoln's cabinet declared Union government will pay for expenses once states have mobilized volunteers.

On June 6th in 1918 In France the U.S. Marines entered combat at the Battle of Belleau Wood and counter-attacked the Germans and pushed them back. It was the 1st US victory of WW I.

On June 6th in 1924 The German Reichstag accepted the Dawes Plan. The U.S.plan to help Germany pay off its war debts.
