On April 28th in 2012 A blind legal activist who fled house arrest in a China village was reportedly under the protection of US officials. AP Reports said that Chen Guangcheng sought protection at the US Embassy in Beijing. High-level talks were currently underway between US and Chinese officials regarding Chen's status, according to the ChinaAid Association. Washington refused to comment on his whereabouts.
