On December 10th in 1869 - Women were granted the right to vote in the Wyoming Territory.

On December 10th in 1898 - A treaty was signed in Paris (Treaty of Paris) that officially ended the Spanish-American War. Cuba became independent of Spain and the United States gained the Philippines, Puerto Rico & Guam

On December 10th in 1906 - U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt became the first American to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, for helping mediate an end to the Russo-Japanese War.

On December 10th in 1931 - Jane Addams became a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, she was the first American woman to do so.

On December 10th in 1939 - The National Football League's attendance exceeded 1 million in a season for the first time.

On December 10th in 1941 - Japan invaded the Philippines.

On December 10th in 1948 - The United Nations General Assembly adopted its Universal Declaration on Human Rights.
