On February 10th in 1942 - The war halted civilian car production at Ford. Henry Ford opposed America's entry into World War II until the attack on Pearl Harbor, which inspired him to begin an all-out effort to manufacture planes and vehicles for the war effort.

On February 10th in 1954 - Eisenhower warned against US intervention in Vietnam.

On February 10th in 1960 - Adolph Coors, the beer brewer, was kidnapped in Golden, Colo.

On February 10th in 1961 - Niagara Falls hydroelectric project began producing power.

On February 10th in 1962 - The Soviet Union exchanged capture American U2 pilot Francis Gary Powers for the Soviet spy Rudolph Ivanovich Abel being held by the U.S.

On February 10th in 1967 - The 25th Amendment to the US Constitution was ratified. The amendment required the appointment of a vice-president when that office became vacant and instituted new measures in the event of presidential disability.
