On August 30th in 1967 The US Senate confirmed the appointment of Thurgood Marshall as the first black justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
On August 30th in 1969 Ho Chi Minh's reply to U.S. President Nixon's July 15 letter was received in Paris. Ho accused the United States of a "war of aggression" against the Vietnamese people.
On August 30th in 1984 US President Ronald Reagan, and several others, were inducted into the Sportscasters Hall of Fame.
