On April 30th in 2009 Obama administration officials said Chrysler will file for bankruptcy protection after overnight talks broke down with a small group of the company's creditors. Canada's government said it will take an ownership stake in Chrysler in exchange for more than $2 billion in loans, under a sweeping North American rescue plan. Ottawa and Washington demanded the Detroit company partner with Fiat as a condition for funding.
On April 30th in 2012 Documents showing close relations between Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda bosses and Taliban commanders are to be published online, on the week marking a year since Bin Laden's death. White House counter-terrorism official John Brennan said the documents would be put online by the US Military Academy's Combating Terrorism Center. The papers were found by US Navy SEALS in the house where Bin Laden was killed in a raid on May 2, 2011.
On April 30th in 2012 President Obama’s re-election team unveiled their campaign slogan on Monday. The slogan is simply ‘forward’. The release of the slogan is accompanied by a 7-minute video listing Obama's accomplishments while in office. The video tries to make the case for Obama's re-election by saying there is still more work to do going "forward".
