On March 28th in 2009 Afghanistan's president offered support for the new US strategy for the growing conflict in his country, praising increased civil and military aid and highlighting a plan for reconciliation with moderate elements of the Taliban.

On March 28th in 2010 President Barack Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan for a firsthand look at the 8-year-old war he inherited and dramatically escalated.

On March 28th in 2010 US federal agents in Ohio arrested 2 members Hutaree, a Christian militia group “preparing for end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive.” A 3rd person was arrested the next day in Indiana as part of an investigation led by the FBI in Michigan.

On March 28th in 2011 Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation that will lead the state to pay fewer weeks of unemployment benefits next year than any other state.
